Présentation
La plaque 'froid et chaud' de Bioseb est un instrument innovant ouvrant de nouveaux champs d'investigation pour vos recherches en analgésie et nociception en vous permettant de tester la sensibilité de l'animal (rat ou souris) à la douleur résultant de l'exposition à la chaleur ou au froid.
La plaque 'froid et chaud' de Bioseb utilise une plaque métallique qui peut être, au choix, chauffée à 55 °C ou refroidie à -2°C (pour une température ambiante de 20 à 25ºC). Un thermostat électrique maintient la plaque à température et l'écran digital affiche la température courante.
La Plaque 'Froid et Chaud' de Bioseb est conçue pour une utilisation très simple, et les températures réglées sont atteintes très rapidement (par exemple: de l'ambiante à 4°C, la valeur de seuil la plus courante, moins de 10 minutes sont nécessaires, et seulement 5 minutes de 4°C à 55°C). Du point de vue métrologique, la plaque est précise à moins de 0,5°C près (Standard Métrologique Européen) et parfaitement constante sur toute la surface. La température pré-réglée ne varie pas de plus de 0,1°C lorsqu'un rat de 400g est placé sur la plaque, et le retour à la température voulue est quasi-instantané.

Principe de fonctionnement
La sensibilité de l'animal (rat ou souris) à la douleur résultant de l'exposition à la chaleur ou au froid est testée en le plaçant sur la surface de la plaque 'froid et chaud' et en démarrant le chronomètre intégré à l'unité. L'opérateur stoppe le chronomètre au moment où l''animal soulève sa patte, réagissant à l'inconfort provoqué par des températures incomodantes. L'écran digitale affiche alors le temps écoulé (en secondes) jusqu'à la réaction de l'animal. Le temps de réaction est une indication de la résistance de l'animal à la douleur et est utilisé pour évaluer l'efficacité de substances analgésiques.
L'opérateur peut démarrer ou stopper le chronomètre avec la commande disponible sur la face avant ou avec la pédale incluse, qui libère les mains pendant l'opération.
